Spring has sprung!! After weeks of running around – crazy busy like all of you with way too many things on that ever growing “TO DO LIST,” I’ve finally taken a moment to look around and realize that spring has sprung! This means CRUISE time, and we are so excited to be seeing so many of our ybf sea babies soon on our UK to Paris 2010 Cruise!! A new season means a new awakening, and it is our honor at ybf to be a part of your Spring too – we girls all have a passion for fashion and what better time to see Paris than in the spring!

I can’t believe this is our 4th year together on our ybf cruise and this year, although it is short, is going to be so very sweet! I cannot begin to describe how much fun we all have when we are together – new friends and old friends – these excursions are the highlight of our year!! So many positive, meaningful memories are created while floating our cares away atop the vastest entity of all – the shimmering seas! The sea is all about having no limits – being bountiful and free, and oh how it inspires all of us girlfriends to feel the same way about ourselves! We look so forward to being with you on our girlfriend getaway and spending quality time together. We’re all very grateful to be a part of a movement of so many amazing females, which is bigger than each of our individual selves…

As some of you know Kristin & I have been a part of the Volcano Victims displacement program!

Like all ybf girlfriends we decided to make a adventure out of this unfortunate natural disaster!

I want to share what has taken place this last week up until now! I also want to thank all of you that have been so inspiring while we have been on this unforeseen journey! All our UK girlfriends are so amazing!

Last week on the morning of the volcano eruption we were the last flights to land in Europe! We arrived in Rome and then flew onto Bologna where we made it but our luggage did not. Loosing our luggage wasn’t the worst thing that can happen when traveling - we learned later! We were in Italy attending the largest beauty show in the world called Cosmoprof! That same evening we were not the only guests to arrive at a black tie business event in casual traveling clothes - after a long day - we were one of fifty other guests and we had the time of our lives!!

David and I have been traveling to Cosmoprof beauty trade show for 15 years now - this is where we view products and begin the product selection process - conception/creation to completion, technology/ science, development and ordering all our great ybf items that make it into your wonderful homes!

Thank you it is a joy to bring you the NEW products that assist you on “Getting the ybf Look”!

You all know we were prepared to have our premier show for Ideal World from the USA on April 26/27 - at our home network HSN (home shopping network) in sunny Florida - my home state!

Until this wonderful adventure began and we know now it was so meant to be! Once displaced - Kristin and I began our exciting adventure to get to our girlfriends in the UK and nothing was going to stop us! We have been on trains, planes, boats and automobiles!!

With the help of so many of you - we rented 2 cars -bought train tickets in 2 countries - put up residence at 5 different hotels/motels - we’ve seen beautiful Europe from the motor way, railway, air and sea all to get to our lovely girlfriends and we would not have wanted to have it any other way!! It was worth traveling through Italy, Switzerland and France to find our way home to the UK and we could have never managed it without all of the help and prayers of you…our girlfriends! We so appreciate all of your time and effort in guilding us along our exciting way!

We even learned some new traveling lessons that Mina and Vira (our USA travel ybf cruise coordinators) would be impressed by:
1. Never turn in your rental car in a different country than the one you rented it from - way too costly - very different from the USA protocol!

2. Never turn in said rental car until you learn your flight is actually departing - we had to change airports in the same city due to cancellation but were not informed until we unloaded the car and were checking in - so with only 1 1/2 hours to catch a flight from a different airport 1 hour away - there was little time to spare! No taxi’s no buses could get us there in time - yes we ran with way too much luggage full of cosmetic samples and trade-fair materials back to re-rent our little car again!! And we were off for the big blue skies!!

After all this is said and done - we will arrive in London on Saturday!

We will take a train to Peterborough on Monday morning for shows that evening! And we can’t wait to see and hear from you ALL on our premier launch on Ideal World - Yippie! I have missed you all so much and we can never be apart this long again!!

The email is probably the best option as they will come directly through to the Gallery, speeding up the process and almost guaranteeing that you - girlfriends will make it on air! You can even attach a photo of you wearing your ybf makeup and we can put you on air and then I have you in our video tape archives - this is so cool we have never been able to do this anywhere before!!

I want to first say I am very sorry for the delay in sending you my heartfelt message concerning our relationship together. I deeply regret that I have been silenced over the last few months due to the unfortunate process of costly litigation with our old partners and many tears. Their lack of integrity has cost me much…but nothing greater than the trust and friendship of you…my dear friends. I have wanted so many times to reach out and to share, but I have had to learn to consider the broader implications of business relationships. It has been so very hard to not be able to open up to my girlfriends and your families who have given me and my family so much of your love and support and we are forever grateful. Sharing everything with you first until today could have lead to the destruction of ybf… and I had to walk this one alone.

I have tried to tell my heart over these last months that the fear of suffering is worse than the suffering itself. And that no heart has ever suffered when it goes in search of change and dreams - at the same time - knowing every second of the search is a treasure to be valued! And oh-by-the-way that all sounds great until you experience what I have had to endure. The only thing that has gotten me through all this is YOU and knowing the time will come soon when we can share the breakthroughs once again that will dazzle, delight and defy expectations for each of us…it’s been a very long process. I have had to challenge a lot of assumptions and search to bust a few myths. I found out girlfriends, that trusting ybf to others while on paper sounded like it would give me more time with you, was the exact opposite. And I do understand and accept responsibility for your frustrations too. I have learned a lot in the last eighteen months about WHO, WHAT, WHEN and WHERE our ybf brand should come together and HOW it should be represented and what it represents to us as friends!

Since ybf was born – out of you wise, witty, thoughtful and so very essential women - I feel YOU…more than anyone else will better understand what I am about to share! We were very blessed with the way we met and I am grateful forever to QVC UK for allowing me the opportunity to come into your homes! But as of today March 29, 2010 I am officially authorized to share - as a friend and my duty - to let you know I am forging up a new path for us. You have all taught me over the years that when you want something, with all of your heart, for yourself and for others, the entire universe conspires in helping you to achieve it!! I want to thank you for that message and to all of you girlfriends for your gorgeous inspiration to aspire over the last fourteen years together with both our beauty endeavors - Models Prefer and now ybf – your best friend – that it is ok and time to make a change!

I am excited to put the past issues behind and continue to explore with you life’s pleasures grand and small, connections delicate and so very strong, love given and received. Here’s to YOU for your loyalty, joy and trust in experiencing this ybf journey together with your best friends the life we have together ahead of us, because after all when this is all said and done all we have is the relationships we build together for ourselves, friends and families!

On April 26th and the 27th, 2010 –our brand - your best friend…has found the ideal relationship and we will be in your homes once more on Ideal World (channels - Sky 644, Freeview 22, Freesat 812, Virgin 747). We have so many plans for our relationship and I want to make sure we take this journey together. As the holidays approach, I wanted to reach out and thank everyone for your friendship, loyal support and kind words throughout some of the most challenging economic times we have all successfully endured. Often times adversity reminds us of what really matters in our daily lives; good health, friendship, love of family, self worth, and the power of hope.

This message to you has been unavoidably delayed by circumstances outside my control.

First let me tell you that YES, YES, YES (sorry got a little carried away there) - Gratefully and gleefully – I will be back in the UK with you in just a few weeks, on December 13 - all day starting at midnight!! And for our HSN/USA girlfriends December 27th!!!

Over the past few months, I have been forced to address personal health issues as well as a very delicate business transition. Both of which are behind us - but not without moments of concern.

I cherish our friendship so very much and it was so difficult to keep quiet about everything going on from my bff’s! I hope you and your loved ones are all in good spirits and well! We have many exciting things coming up in 2010 and I can’t wait to share them with you! You’ll be the first to know!

Girlfriends, I’d like to introduce you to my beautiful, charming, sparkling mother, Phylis. Some of you may already know her from our ybf Pajama Party at Sea 2008 or from her recent appearances on HSN alongside my sister Tracey – both of them glowing, smiling and personifying beauty that emanates from within.

But even those of you who have never before set eyes on my mom know her better than you may think. You see Phylis every time I am on the air - going on TV without any makeup, connecting with girlfriends, enjoying a laugh with my network hosts - because she is the one who taught me to believe in myself, set aside my fears and embrace others with open arms. Mom is the one who taught me about self-sufficiency and self-approval. Mom always gave me the chance to push myself to achieve the unexpected.

If I am able to pass on to my girls a fraction of what my mom has given me, then I will feel at peace with my role as “Mom” in their precious lives.

I love you so much, Mom! Thank you for everything! Happy Mother’s Day!

What better way to start 2009 than with a thrilling new venture that celebrates friendship and encouraging us all to the very best we can be!

We have had the most fulfilling experience receiving all the wonderful entries from our MAOT girlfriends! We loved reading the inspiring stories and heartening histories from all our delightful contestants ~ we shed more than a few tears when we realized we would not be able to choose every single one of them to represent our new Be…ybf brand of cosmetics for tweens and teens! Oh, how we wish we could!

This was definitely one of the most difficult decisions we’ve ever faced, but in the long run, we were able to choose eight exemplary young ladies who have achieved and project positive self-esteem, compassion and commitment to their community, an understanding of true friendship and are outstanding role models in their scholastic and personal endeavors! At last, I can finally share with you all the exciting news I have been bursting to tell you for more than a year!

Over the past 12 years, Models Prefer has been more successful than I could have ever dreamed – I’m so grateful to you all; thank you from the bottom of my heart! It’s because of this brand that we became friends - on-air, by mail, in person, on the cruise and here in the ybf Blog and Village. So many of you have been incredibly generous, allowing me and my whole team to share more than just a business relationship, but really, we’ve shared true friendship. You, as friends, have made me strong, made me laugh, and helped me deal with whatever surprises life has thrown my way - I truly cherish you all!

And it is because of you, in honor of you, and in service to you, that I am launching my NEW cosmetics brand, ybf (your best friend)! Without question, the name for my newest venture came from you, my wonderful girlfriends.

As sad as it is to say farewell to Models Prefer - the brand that brought us together – this past year of planning ybf has been one of the most exciting and busy years of my life! I want ybf to be everything Models Prefer has been, but SO MUCH MORE!

While the names will be changing, you’re going to recognize the familiar products you have relied on for years, but they’ll be even better, with gorgeous packaging, superior formulas, improved delivery systems, sumptuous color palettes! I consider it my personal mission to make sure that every product, every service and every experience offered under this name lives up to its pledge to be your best friend.

So yes, this past week on QVC in the UK was my final Models Prefer show, and I dearly wish I’d been able to announce to you my news then - so we could send off our old friend with a bottle of champagne - but it was not to be. I hope, instead, you’ll raise a glass of bubbly with me to welcome in this new adventure first on The Home Shopping Network (HSN) in the US on August 3rd and then on QVC in the UK on August 30th (right after our glorious Pajama Party at Sea)!

More importantly, I hope you’ll allow me the privilege and pleasure of remaining your friend. And I promise to share with you everything I’ve learned about true beauty and the empowering confidence every woman deserves to have. I look forward to getting to know each and every one of you better and becoming ybf!
